Revision: I changed the color of the "originally established 1940" to the green from behind because that triangle represents the passed brothers and I liked the connection. This also helped make the text more readable. I also moved the font under the title to give it better alignment
Background: My family owns a ranch that they just changed the name from Triangle Ranch Inc. to Bass Family Farms. I decided to try and create a new logo for it, creating a logo is something I've never done before.
I kept the triangle idea because it is still our brand and it used to be the name because the ranch originally belonged to three brothers. Now the ranch is split between my mother and her two cousins. It shows a lighter triangle as an echo of the past. two triangles to represent the six owners
Photoshop:
- use shape tool to create two triangles
- colored borders to company green
- used masks to erase the bottom part of the triangles
- changed font color in the middle of the triangles to white (how might I make it transparent and mask out the triangle on them?)
- turned the big triangle to hard light to make it disappear at the triangle crossings and look lighter
Design:
- Color: Our ranch colors are bright yellow and green (so that you can see the tags from far away on the cows)
- Alignment: I used the text to fill in the bottom line for a minimalized look. I then centered the other text in between the two triangles and mis-aligned the triangles to make them look like mountains (we have mountains on the ranch)
- Repetition: the two triangles
- Contrast: the green and the lighter green
